Programs

German Language (CEFR A1 to B2)

Introduction

At SLC we prepare students for examinations correspond to the levels of the common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and range from A1 for beginners to B2 for language skills at the highest level. We provide TEXT books that compile to CEFR. After which you may be eligible to further your studies in Germany.

•4 days of classes in a week

Kids German Program

Introduction

SLC provides a very fun and interesting environment for kids aged 7- 12 to learn German Language. Being well-equipped with Audi-Visual system, SLC makes a pleasant place for kids to learn.

The common European Framework Reference for German Language (CEFR). A1 for beginners to C2 for language skills are shown in the diagram below :

A1 – FOUNDATION / BASIC

Can understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and very simple sentences, which relate to the satisfying of concrete needs. Can introduce him/herself and others as well as ask others about themselves – e.g. where they live, who they know and what they own – and can respond to questions of this nature. Can communicate in a simple manner if the person they are speaking to speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to help.

A2 – ELEMENTARY

Can understand sentences and commonly used expressions associated with topics directly related to his/her direct circumstances (e.g. personal information or information about his/her family, shopping, work, immediate surroundings). Can make him/herself understood in simple, routine situations dealing with a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and common topics. Can describe his/her background and education, immediate surroundings and other things associated with immediate needs in a simple way.

B1 – INTERMEDIATE

Can understand sentences and commonly used expressions associated with topics directly related to his/her direct circumstances (e.g. personal information or information about his/her family, shopping, work, immediate surroundings). Can make him/herself understood in simple, routine situations dealing with a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and common topics. B2 – ADVANCED

Can understand the main points when clear, standard language is used and the focus is on familiar topics associated with work, school, leisure time, etc. Can deal with most situations typically encountered when travelling in the language region. Can express him/herself simply and coherently regarding familiar topics and areas of personal interest. Can report on experiences and events, describe dreams, hopes and goals as well as make short statements to justify or explain his/her own views and plans.

Kids German Program

Language is a communication tool. It facilitates thinking, it embodies concepts. Yet it does not really have any content. In our language courses for kids, we don’t just teach children the tool without content, we teach them how to think critically and positively (as the content), which is an extremely important skill to lead healthy, happy lives and keep in touch with this wonderful language. The Kids German program are introductory German courses for children. Children learn through different games and activities by means of immersion. Children who have completed the Kids German program will be able to continue their German learning journey with the A1, A2 certification course as part of the complete education preparation in Germany.
